Steve Posselt wants to change the world. He wants people to stop wrecking the natural environment, and he’s willing to kayak 7000km to encourage them to do it.

The 54-year-old former Graftonian will start paddling from Brisbane to Adelaide on Sunday, travelling the shrinking inland river system with the hope of inspiring people to take action to tackle climate change. With many of these rivers running dry, Mr Posselt has fitted his kayak with wheels and a pulling harness to enable him to traverse all terrains.

He will be assisted throughout his paddling odyssey by two of his former Grafton High School classmates, Bryce Jones and Geoff McBride.
