A
lack
of
water
is
not
going
to
stop
Steve
Posselt
from
achieving
his
dream
of
kayaking
from
Brisbane
to
Adelaide
.
The
Queenslander,
who
set
off
from
Brisbane
yesterday,
has
spent
four
years
planning
the
paddle
to
raise
climate
change
and
drought
awareness.
But
because
there
is
no
water
in
many
of
the
river
systems
on
Mr
Posselt's
Outback
journey,
the
54-year-old
civil
engineer
has
fitted
wheels
to
his
kayak.
"I
don't
think
there's
going
to
be
any
paddling
until
the
Murray,''
he
said.
His
adventure
will
take
him
through
the
Brisbane,
Bremmer,
Condamine,
Darling,
Murray
and
Torrens
Rivers.
It's
then
on
to
Lake
Alexandrina,
Encounter
Bay
and,
finally,
Gulf
St
Vincent.
He
will
provide
educational
forums
in
towns
along
the
way.
With
a
goal
of
covering
40km
a
day
on
the
estimated
7000km
between
the
two
cities,
Mr
Posselt
hopes
to
be
in
Adelaide
for
Christmas.
