Cities should not steal water
It is not morally acceptable to take water out of a dying river and pump it over the hill to a city.
“Please have a heart Melbourne, don’t steal Murray River water. The river needs it.”
“We have alternatives, the river does not”
“It is possible that the best place for a dam in most major cities is the river on which those cities are built,” he wrote in Cry Me a River, the book that presents his study of the Murray Darling River basin from a kayak. “It is criminal to remove pure water from the landscape, drink three percent of it and flush the rest into the ocean,” Posselt said today.
